Curiozytour is the only in tour company to offer a walk in Montmartre with a native licensed guide from Montmartre.
This tour is 100% Montmartrois !
Meet me somewhere in Montmartre and then let’s have a walking tour in my neighbourhood. You will see places where lived artists such as Picasso, Renoir, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Apollinaire, Eric Satie, Maurice Utrillo and his mother Suzanne Valadon…
Then, after a nice walk, we will reach the top of the hill call la Place du Tertre (the artist’s square for tourists)
Maybe we will meet some of my friends or famous French artists and talk to them.
Then will stop at the Sacré-Coeur basilica which is the most visited monuments in town after Notre Dame cathedral.
Tourists love it but many Parisians say that : “it is nice from far but it is far to be nice”.
We like to compare it with a big meringue pie.
Montmartre has also the largest vineyard of Paris.
They are not so old, as the painter Poulbot, planted them in the 30’s in order to avoid the construction of new buildings on this site.
Poulbot defended the hill of Montmartre and he also took care of the poor children of the area.
So today the kids of Montmartre are called les petits Poulbots.
Every year, on the second Saturday of October, Montmartre celebrates the harvest festival ( La fête des vendanges ).
The parade always starts with the Poulbots playing drums.
After the visit, you will have the wine and food tasting session you deserve.
I prefer to tell you that we go in food stores where only the locals go.
Most of tour guides will take you to the rue des Abbesses or also Saint Germain des Prés for food tours.
With me you can be sure to be the only tourists in the middle of the real Montmartrois.
Food and wine are not included in the price. We stop in some food and wine stores and you buy anything you want. I will help you to choose the right products.
Sorry this tour is not available in a wheelchair.
