What a wonderful place. The building is gorgeous and very inviting. The staff are helpful and friendly. The tickets are so well priced and it’s great value. It is easy to navigate and for someone with a toddler and a pram who doesn’t know much about art, it was easy to pick our to highlights like Monet and the impressionists and recognise the most famous works and enjoy the curation. The lunch at the restaurant was also a lovely experience. Probably not the most amazing food in Paris and it was slightly expensive but a wonderful venue in an amazing setting and again the staff were so lovely and accommodating to our toddler!
A monumental building that used to be a railway station and then became a museum. Many unique masterpieces, especially my beloved impressionists. Worth visiting even for those who are not very fond of museums on the whole 🙂
The Musee d’Orsay is of course a highlight of any trip to Paris. For us, arriving early on New Year’s Day, it was a double delight to find no queues and no charge for that day. In fact, all public transport in Paris is also free until 12 noon on January 1st. It is your present from the City of Paris. So if you are planning a trip for next January, be sure to put an early visit to the Musee d’Orsay on your agenda!
